The book Laozi（written by laozi，a philosopher in the Spring and Autumn Period, founder of Taoism）was considered as the programmatic works of taoism theory，in which there are profound wisdom about scientific and life philosophy and social historical view.

Abstract：The philosophic thought culture of China’s Pre-qin Taoism are characterized by
Rich contents and large system, and is one of the important sources of Chinese ideology and culture development. The book, “Lao Zi”, is regarded as the programmatic work of Taoism, its thoughts reflect a lot of profound wisdom in the fields of natural philosophy, philosophy of life, and social history.
From the novel viewing angles this paper attempts to review and investigate the historical role of Taoism using modern philosophy concepts, and finally make some of the philosophy thoughts in “Lao Zi” playing their guidance role in modern society.
