The purpose of this study is to investigate the source of stress for disabled athletes and the general situation of coping styles and characteristics. Examine the use of athletes and the COPE Scale, Stress Scale 80 regular players were tested, 80 normal subjects and 50 disabled athletes with disabilities were tested questionnaire. This paper, taking athletes with diabilities(hereinafter referred to as AWD) as the major object of the study, aims to explore the overall performance and features of their stressors and stress-coping patterns. By using the Stress Scale and Cope Scale it surveyed and tested 80 non-disabled athletes(hereinafter referred to as NDA), 80 disabled non-athletes(hereinafter referred to as DNA) and 80 AWDs and concluded that:
1. Both NDAs and AWDs saw a defeated match/game as the most prominet stressor and the latter was more vulnerable to the factor of daily experiences than the former.
2. The stress-coping pattern adopted very often by NDAs, DNAs and AWDs was to explain actively. The AWDs were more inclined to accept things than DNAs who, compared with the AWDs however, were more prone to deny the facts and adopt the negative coping pattern for a relief of his/her conduct. In regard to such factors as emotional whole-heartedness and catharsis, the AWDs were less capable than NDAs.
