在汉语里,这些貌似的同义词,在英语里则不能混为一谈.question 它指的是“需要回答”的问题,所以常和answer 连用； 而matter通常指“麻烦事”,强调“需要帮助或处理”,所以,当看见某人表情不好时常说 what`s the matter?； preblem 常指需要“着手解决的问题”,所以,常用 solve the preblem ,即解决问题.
answer和reply的区别在于：前者这要用在口语里,且为及物动词,其宾语为指“问题”的词,即 answer .,后者则多见于书面语里,且后面要接 to,即 reply to sb.,回答某人 ,其宾语是“指人”的词.
mouse和rat ：从英文解释来看,mouse 和rat 都指的是 “老鼠,耗子”,但前者经常个头较小,且给人以“可爱”之意,而后者体型较大,但无可爱之意；因此,米老鼠应翻译成 Micky Mouse,可是翻译成 Micky rat 就是错的.
明白了吗?学英语,一定注意,不能总是按汉语习惯去套英语,否则,会闹笑话的.
