He described Huck Finn’s idyllic cruise through eternal boyhood and tom sawyer’s endless summer of freedom and adventure. There fore, this nation’s best-loved writer was every bit as adventurous, patriotic, romantic, and humorous as anyone has ever imagined.
Benjamin Franklin
Benjamin Franklin came from a very simple Calvinist
background. He was born in a poor candle-maker’s family-“poor and obscure” as he says of himself in his autobiography. As he was a greedy reader, however, he managed to make up for the deficiency by his own effort. His public career begin in the early 1750s. Francis Bacon (1561–1626) was one of the leading figures in natural philosophy and in the field of scientific methodology in the period of transition from the Renaissance to the early modern era. As a lawyer, member of Parliament, and Queen's Counsel, Bacon wrote on questions of law, state and religion, as well as on contemporary politics; but he also published texts in which he speculated on possible conceptions of society, and he pondered questions of ethics (Essays) even in his works on natural philosophy (The Advancement of Learning).
Shakespeare(莎士比亚) (1564-1616),Though William Shakespeare is recognized as one of literature’s greatest influences, very little is actually known about him. What we do know about his life comes from registrar records, court records, wills, marriage certificates and his tombstone. Anecdotes and criticisms by his rivals also speak of the famous playwright and suggest that he was indeed a playwright, poet and an actor.
